Dinner in the house of Simone Fariseo.

Acquaforte. Inciso: 333x425 mm. Ampi margini. Stato: II/II. Impressa su carta forte vergellata. Iscrizioni: In basso, a sin. ‘Paulus de Callearis Veronensis Inueni’; a dex. ‘N. 93’. Lievi tracce d’uso, buono stato di conservazione. 

Rara stampa del Mitelli, che traduce magistralmente in acquaforte l’opera di Paolo Veronese. È proposta in controparte della parte destra del dipinto. La ‘Cena in casa di Simone’ fu dipinta da Paolo Veronese per il convento veneziano di San Sebastiano; terminata nel 1570, oggi si trova nella Pinacoteca di Brera, a Milano. Un esemplare di questa stampa, completo delle due parti, presso la Civica Raccolta delle Stampe A. Bertarelli, nello stato prima del numero. Cfr. Etching. 33x425 mm. Wide margins. State II/II. Printed on laid paper. Inscriptions. Slight sign of wear. Good condition.

Rare print by Mitelli, which masterfully translates the work of Paolo Veronese into etching. It is proposed as a counterpart to the right side of the painting. The 'Supper in Simone's house' was painted by Paolo Veronese for the Venetian convent of San Sebastiano; completed in 1570, today it is located in the Pinacoteca di Brera, in Milan. A copy of this print, complete with both parts, at the A. Bertarelli Civic Collection of Prints, in the state before number.
