L'amant radoteur.

Incisione su rame. 232x165 mm. Rifilata sul rame e incollata su foglio di supporto. Sotto l’immagine il titolo al centro e due quartine in francese. La rifilatura sul margine inferiore ha eliminato la scritta “Gaspar Isac excudit Avec Privilege”. Buono stato di conservazione.

Rarissima incisione con tema galante e satirico. Jaspar Isaac, incisore e mercante di stampe francese di origine fiamminga, firma alcune sue opere “Jaspar Isac”. Attivo a Parigi dall’inizio del XVII secolo, la sua attività fu continuata dal figlio Claude. Una copia di questa stampa presente presso lo Statens Museum for Kunst, National Gallery of Denmark.

Condition Report

Engraving, 232x165 mm. Trimmed on the plate and glud on paper. Under the illustration the title and two quatrains in French. The trimming on the lower margin eliminated the written: “Gaspar Isac excudit Avec Privilege”. Good condition.

Extremely rare engraving with a gallant and satirical theme. Jaspar Isaac, French engraver and merchant of Flemish origin, signs some of his works "Jaspar Isac". Active in Paris since the beginning of the seventeenth century, his business was continued by his son Claude. A copy of this print in the Statens Museum for Kunst, National Gallery of Denmark.
