Un foglio in 12mo. 170x108 mm. Lettera su una pagina, testo in francese, scrittura corsiva, inchiostro bruno. Buona conservazione. 

Il celebre scultore francese fa riferimento al Castello di Compiegne e alla sua partecipazione all’ Exposition Universelle di Parigi. 
«Mon cher Ami. J’envoie ma présentation du Tableau du Palais de Compiègne aujourd’hui seulement. J’espère en votre appui, et j’en aurai d’autant plus besoin pour l’Exposition Universelle, que je n’enverrai rien à l’autre. Nos petites santés nous obligent à vivre pour le moment dans la vie contemplative jusqu’à ce que nous montions en chemin de fer pour : 1 Raphael peut-être, ou… une seconde corniche après Gènes… Je vais aller aux informations à Paris. J’y attends mon frère ces jours-ci, et nous irons vous serrez la main, et chercher des nouvelles de nos chères voyageuses…» 
Eugène Guillaume, 1822 – 1905, allievo di Pradier, vinse il Prix de Rome nel 1845. Ebbe non solo una brillante carriera come scultore ma ricoprì anche incarichi importanti nell'amministrazione artistica: Direttore della Scuola di Belle Arti di Parigi (1865-1878),  Direttore generale delle Belle Arti (1878-1879) e infine Direttore dell'Accademia di Francia a Roma (1891-1904).
Partecipò con sculture a tre edizioni del’Exposition Universelle di Paris: 1867, 1878, 1889.

Single leaf, in 12mo. 170x108 mm. Letter on a page, text in French, cursive writing, brown ink. Good condition.

The famous French sculptor refers to the Castle of Compiegne and his participation in the Exposition Universelle in Paris.«Mon cher Ami. Eugène Guillaume, 1822 – 1905, pupil of Pradier, won the Prix de Rome in 1845. He not only had a brilliant career as a sculptor but also held important positions in artistic administration: Director of the School of Fine Arts in Paris (1865-1878) , Director General of Fine Arts (1878-1879) and finally Director of the French Academy in Rome (1891-1904).
He participated with sculptures in three editions of the Exposition Universelle in Paris: 1867, 1878, 1889.
