GRANGER, Jean-Pierre - GUÉRIN, Christophe. Méléagre (Meleagro e il cinghiale calidonio).
Prima metà del XIX secolo [1829]

Acquaforte di 440x320 mm. Margini. Iscrizioni in basso “Granger del.; Guerin sculp.” Buon esemplare.
Bella acquaforte che riproduce il gruppo scultoreo di Meleagro e il cinghiale calidonio nella copia romana in marmo di un originale greco del IV secolo a.C., attribuito a Scopas, conservato nel Museo Pio-Clementino, nei Musei Vaticani.

Acquaforte di 420x310 mm. Margini. Iscrizioni in basso “Dessiné par Duchemin” e “Gravé a Stutgardt par Scultze” Buon esemplare.

Bella acquaforte che riproduce una copia romana del II secolo a.C. da un originale greco, forse di Lisippo, della fine del IV secolo a.C. rinvenuta nel Teatro di Marcello in Roma. La statua, conservata al Louvre, raffigura un giovane nell’atto di allacciarsi i sandali, inizialmente identificato come Hermes e Cincinnato, poi successivamente in Giasone.

Tavole provenienti dall’opera “Musée Francais; Recueil Des Plus Beaux Tableaux, Statues, et Bas-Reliefs Qui Existaient Au Louvre Avant 1815” Paris and London, W. Galignani and J.O. Robinson, 1829; una raccolta di incisioni di statue classiche che registrano le grandi opere d'arte esposte al Louvre prima del 1815, quando molti di essi furono restituiti ai Paesi che li avevano precedentemente ceduti a Napoleone.

Beautiful etching reproducing the sculptural group of Meleager and the Calydonian Boar in the Roman marble copy of a 4th-century B.C. Greek original attributed to Scopas preserved in the Pio-Clementino Museum, in the Vatican Museums.

Beautiful etching reproducing a Roman copy of the 2nd century BC from a Greek original, perhaps by Lysippus, from the end of the 4th century BC found in the Theater of Marcellus in Rome. The statue, preserved in the Louvre, depicts a young man in the act of tying his sandals, initially identified as Hermes and Cincinnatus, then later as Jason.
