Lo scrittore annuncia l’imminente uscita della rivista "Les Lettres et les Arts" da lui stesso diretta. Chiede al suo corrispondente un articolo. Il primo numero di questa rivista uscì nel gennaio 1886. Anatole France, premio Nobel 1921, partecipò solo a questo primo numero: dichiarò in seguito che i vincoli della direzione di una rivista era troppo gravosi per la sua attività di scrittore.

The writer announces the imminent release of the magazine "Les Lettres et les Arts" which he himself directed. He asks his correspondent for an article. The first issue of this magazine came out in January 1886. Anatole France, Nobel laureate 1921, participated only in this first issue: he later declared that the constraints of the editorship of a magazine were too burdensome for his activity as a writer.
