Bellissimo esemplare di questo romanzo satirico e sociale che conobbe subito un immenso successo.  Sostenitore dell'economia liberale, Reybaud prese a modello Jérôme Paturot, eccentrica personificazione delle utopie politiche allora in voga, e trasse da lui questa favola comica e morale.
Louis Reybaud (1799-1879) fu economista, giornalista, letterato e politico francese.

Beautiful specimen of this satirical and social novel which immediately enjoyed immense success. Supporter of liberal economics, Reybaud took Jérôme Paturot as a model, an eccentric personification of the political utopias then in vogue, and took this comic and moral fable from him.
Louis Reybaud (1799-1879) was a French economist, journalist, man of letters and politician.
