Incisione su rame puntinata. 455x590 mm. Iscrizioni sotto l’immagine: a sinistra ‘Painted by W.m Hogarth’; al centro ‘ Titolo’; a destra ‘Engraved by Rob.t Dodd’; sotto ‘Published Jan. 1. 1792 by J & J Boydell ….’ Leggero foxing, ma Buon esemplare.

BM: “Copy of a picture by Hogarth, showing a performance of Dryden's play 'The Indian Emperor; or, the Conquest of Mexico' which took place in spring 1732 in the hourse of John Conduitt, before the Duke of Cumberland, who stands on the left with the Princesses Mary and Louisa beside him; the Duke of Richmond is shown in the left foreground, leaning over his wife's chair, while Lady Deloraine, sitting beside her, bends forward towards her daughters; …”
Robert Dodd (1748 – 1815) è stato un artista e incisore inglese specializzato in arte marina. È noto per le sue opere sulla Rivoluzione francese e sulle guerre napoleoniche.

Stipple engraving. 455x590 mm. Below the image inscriptions: on the left ‘Painted by W.m Hogarth’; al centro ‘ Titolo’; a destra ‘Engraved by Rob.t Dodd’; below in the centre ‘‘Published Jan. 1. 1792 by J & J Boydell ….’ Slight foxing, overall good condition.

Robert Dodd (1748 - 1815) was an English artist and engraver specializing in marine art. He is known for his works on the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars.
