Puntasecca e bulino, 380x329 mm. In basso al centro sulla lastra: Rembrandt f. 1653. Rifilato ai margini. Ottimo stato di conservazione.

Copia del XIX secolo. Si tratta di uno dei più grandi capolavori dell’intera produzione artistica di Rembrandt, rappresenta l’apice della sua bravura come incisore. Egli eseguì il disegno sulla lastra di rame interamente a puntasecca. In questa stampa, l’inchiostro volutamente lasciato sulla lastra crea un leggero velo sulle figure ai piedi della croce a destra, mentre uno strato più denso offusca le siepi lungo il bordo destro.
