Incisione su lastra di rame. 515x643 mm. Iscrizioni sotto l’immagine: a sinistra ‘N. Poussin peinxit / Ex Museo Jo. Formont S.r de Venne’; al centro ‘Titolo’; a destra ‘J. Pesne del et Sculps cum privil. Regis’. Sotto il titolo, legenda: «Je Legue ma mère a Aretée pur la nourri et en auoir soin dans sa vieillesse. Je legue ma fille à Charixene pour la marier auec un aussi grand dot | quil pourra luy doner. Et si l’un ou l’autre vient cependant a mourir, i’entends que le legs que ie luy ai fait reuienne au suruiuant. Lucien dans le Toxaris». Buon esemplare.

Magnifica riproduzione dell’opera dipinta da Poussin tra il 1643 e il 1644, ora presso lo Statens Museum for Kunst, Museo nazionale del Danimarca. J. Pesne, 1623-1700, era particolarmente specializzato nell’incisione delle opere di Poussin.
