Copia del’700 di questa incisione riproducente la parte destra della celebre Zuffa degli dči marini. L'opera č una delle migliori tra una decina di incisioni assegnate o attribuite a Mantegna. La Zuffa mostra una serie di divinitŕ che, in una sorta di palude e a cavallo di creature straordinarie quali cavalli e mostri marini, sono intente a una strenua lotta, colpendosi con varie armi (lance, frecce, mazze, ma anche teschi di animali o pesci legati a frusta). Burin and drypoint engraving of 290x400 mm. Sanguine engraving. Good conditions.

18th century copy of this engraving reproducing the right side of the famous battle of the sea gods. The work is one of the best among a dozen engravings assigned or attributed to Mantegna. The Zuffa shows a series of divinities who, in a sort of swamp and astride extraordinary creatures such as horses and sea monsters, are engaged in a strenuous fight, hitting each other with various weapons (spears, arrows, clubs, but also animal or fish skulls tied to whip).
