Xilografia a colori grigio e verde scuro. 370x253 mm. Rifilato ai margini. Ottimo stato di conservazione.

Bella copia del XIX secolo. Graziosa xilografia di Baldung, pittore, disegnatore, incisore e xilografo tedesco, contemporaneo e allievo di Albrecht Dürer. Lavorò insieme agli altri allievi di Dürer: Hans Schäufelein, Hans Süss von Kulmbach e Hans Dürer. Insieme a Lucas Cranach il vecchio e a Hans Burgkmair fu uno dei precursori della tecnica di incisione chiaroscuro. In seguito le sue opere passarono da argomenti prevalentemente religiosi ad argomenti più secolari. L'artista si dedicò alla raffigurazione di episodi mitologici e alle allegorie. Negli ultimi vent'anni della sua carriera venne in influenzato dal manierismo italiano.

Nice copy from the 19th century. Nice woodcut by Baldung, German painter, draftsman, engraver and woodcutter, contemporary and pupil of Albrecht Dürer. He worked together with Dürer's other pupils: Hans Schäufelein, Hans Süss von Kulmbach and Hans Dürer. Together with Lucas Cranach the Elder and Hans Burgkmair he was one of the forerunners of the chiaroscuro engraving technique. His works later moved from predominantly religious to more secular topics. The artist devoted himself to the depiction of mythological episodes and allegories. In the last twenty years of his career he was influenced by Italian mannerism.
