First edition of Higgs's account of the Physiocratic School, originally delivered as a series of lectures at the London School of Economics in 1896. The English historian of economic thought discusses iin a series of lectures given at the London School of Economics in 1896 the 18th century free market Physiocratic school, its origins, ideas, political and intellectual influence. This book, in addition to his edition of Richard Cantillon's Essai (1931), remains his most extended work on the subject.
