Record of the celebrations held in Nice on the occasion of the marriage of Philip V of Spain (1683-1746) with Maria Luisa of Savoy (1688-1714); the couple was wed by proxy on 12 September 1701, five days before Maria Luisa's thirteenth birthday. On 18 September she arrived in Nice, where she was greeted by Pope Clement XI (1649-1721) who, on 20 September, gave her as ritualistic gift the Golden Rose. She then traveled to Spain and finally meeting Philip V on 2 November in Figueres, where a new wedding ceremony was celebrated. Work dedicated to “Illustrissimo, ed Eccellentissimo Signore, il Sig. D. Carmine Nicolò Caraccioli Prencipe di Santo Buono, Grande di Spagna, ed Ambasciatore Straordinario della Maestà della Regina appresso la Santa Sede."
