Manifesto a colori di 113 x 79 cm. Dati tipografici in basso al centro. Buona conservazione.

Manifesto patriottico della prima guerra mondiale pubblicato a Parigi nel 1916. Si tratta certamente di uno dei più famosi: raffigura un poilu, termine usato colloquialmente per definire i fanti francesi impegnati in questo conflitto, che tiene un fucile in una mano e con l'altra esorta i suoi compagni d'arme. Il testo incoraggiava i francesi a sottoscrivere il secondo prestito per la difesa nazionale. In tutto, il governo ne avrebbe emessi quattro durante la guerra. Questo è opera dell'illustratore e caricaturista Abel Faivre (1867-1945) e fu pubblicato da Devambez, una ditta di incisori e stampatori rilevata da Édouard Devambez nel 1873 e poi dal figlio André Devambez. Questa ditta produsse molti altri manifesti durante la guerra.

Patriotic First World War poster published in Paris in 1916. It is certainly one of the most famous: it depicts a poilu, a term colloquially used to describe French infantrymen engaged in this conflict, holding a rifle in one hand and with the other exhorting his comrades-in-arms. The text encouraged the French to take out the second loan for national defence. In all, the government would issue four during the war. This is the work of the illustrator and caricaturist Abel Faivre (1867-1945) and was published by Devambez, a firm of engravers and printers taken over by Édouard Devambez in 1873 and later by his son André Devambez. This firm produced many other posters during the war.
