Philibert-Louis Debucourt (1755 – 1832) è stato un pittore e incisore francese. Le sue opere nella maggior parte dei casi raffigurano la quotidianità parigina, specie quella della borghesia.

Scena galante ed erotica da un dipinto del pittore francese Louis-Léopold Boilly (1761-1845).

Incisione su rame a colori; 500x405 mm. Titolo in basso, al centro. Bell’esemplare.

Rara tavola incisa con la tecnica “stipple”, ossia con l’uso di un retino che produce un effetto puntinistico.
Essa mostra un gruppo di zingari riuniti con i loro animali in un paesaggio. Una donna al centro solleva un bambino sulla gerla di un asino, mentre un uomo regge una mela per attirare il bambino.

Philibert-Louis Debucourt (1755 – 1832) was a French painter and engraver. His works mostly depict Parisian everyday life, especially that of the bourgeoisie.

A gallant and erotic scene from a painting by the French painter Louis-Léopold Boilly (1761-1845).

Colored copperplate engraving; 500x405 mm. Titled at the bottom, centre. Good specimen.

A rare plate engraved with the “stipple” technique, that is, with the use of a screen that produces a pointillistic effect.
It shows a group of gypsies gathered with their animals in a landscape. A woman in the centre lifts a child onto a donkey's basket, while a man holds an apple to attract the child.
