Incisione di mm. 480x352. Didascalia in olandese. Firma ed editore nell’inciso. Incisione su carta forte, ben impressa, con forti contrasti. Brunita. Buon esemplare.

Bella incisione di Pieter de Baillieu da Pieter Bruegel. Secondo stato su due dell’incisione del 1559. 
Questa incisione su rame mostra il calzolaio e sua moglie come maestri di scuola.
Pieter De Bailliu fu un incisore fiammingo che tra il 1640 e il 1660 incise diverse opere degli artisti fiamminghi più importanti, tra cui Van Dyck e Rubens.

Etching of mm. 480x352. Dutch caption. Signature and printer in the platemark. Engraving on thick paper, nice printing with strong contrasts. Browning. Good specimen.

Beautiful engraving by Pieter de Baillieu from Pieter Bruegel. Second state out of two of the 1559 engraving.
This etching shows the shoemaker and his wife as school masters.
Pieter De Bailliu was a Flemish engraver who between 1640 and 1660 engraved several works by the most important Flemish artists, including Van Dyck and Rubens.
