Incisioni su rame. Incisi di 510x357 mm. ca. Margini. In basso, al centro il titolo. Sotto: a sinistra “Van Spaendonck del.”; a destra “P.F. Le Grand Sculp.” Lievi fioriture e piccole macchie. 

Rare tavole in cui i fiori sono magistralmente raffigurati da P.F. Le Grand con la tecnica “stipple”, ossia con l’uso di un retino che produce un effetto puntinistico. Le stampe furono inserite nella raccolta "Fleurs Dessinees D'apres Nature Recueil Utile Aux Amateurs, Aux Jeunes Artists, Aux Eleves Des Ecoles Centrales Et Aux Dessinateurs Des Manufactures", edita a Parigi nel 1800.
I disegni sono del pittore olandese G. Van Spaendonck, 1746-1822, professore di pittura di piante al Jardin des Plantes a Parigi, artista di grande notorietà e prestigio, alla cui scuola si formò anche Redouté. 
Pierre François Le Grand fu un celebre incisore della seconda metà del XVIII sec., conosciuto, oltre che per la citata rara opera, anche per avere inciso tavole da Cipriani e Angelica Kauffmann.

Copper engravings. Engraved 510x357 mm. approx. Margins. At the bottom, in the center the title. Below: on the left “Van Spaendonck del.”; on the right “P.F. Le Grand Sculp.”  Slight foxing and small spots.

Rare plates in which the flowers are masterfully depicted by P.F. Le Grand with the “stipple” technique, that is, with the use of a screen that produces a pointillistic effect. The prints was included in the collection "Fleurs Dessinees D'apres Nature Recueil Utile Aux Amateurs, Aux Jeunes Artists, Aux Eleves Des Ecoles Centrales Et Aux Dessinateurs Des Manufactures", published in Paris in 1800.
The drawings are by the Dutch painter G. Van Spaendonck, 1746-1822, Professor of plant painting at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, an artist of great fame and prestige, in whose school Redouté also trained.
Pierre.François Le Grand was a famous engraver of the second half of the 18th century, known not only for the rare work mentioned above, but also for having engraved plates by Cipriani and Angelica Kauffmann.
