3 volume in 8vo, legatura in piena pelle alle armi di Madeleine Angélique de Neufville de Villeroy of Luxembourg (1787). Due tavole ripiegate e 40 tavole incise n.t. Qualche difetto e mancanza alle legature.

Prima edizione di un importante resoconto "che mostra le pretese francesi sul territorio meridionale ora occupato da diversi stati, ma rivendicato anche dagli inglesi sotto il nome di "Carolana".L'autore risiedette in Louisiana quindici anni, ed è dalla sua relazione che sono stati ricavati la maggior parte dei dettagli della vita dei Natchez e di altre tribù indiane del Mississippi.

3 volumes in 8vo, Contemporary full leather binding with the coat of arms of Madeleine Angélique de Neufville de Villeroy of Luxembourg (1787). 2 folding maps and 40 plates. Loss on bindings.

First edition of an important account "showing the French claims to the Southern territory now occupied by several states, but claimed also by the English under the name of "Carolana." The author resided in Louisiana fifteen years, and it is from his relation that most of the details of the life of the Natchez and other Mississippi tribes of Indians have been derived.
